An extremely gifted musician, Stan
Kopac was music director of the Peterborough Symphony from 1987 to
1999, a period in which the PSO grew in size and playing ability,
thanks in large part to his formidable talents. He brought his
musical convictions with him from his native Poland, where he was a
conductor of several orchestras and operas. A recipient of the
prestigious Heinz Unger conducting award in Canada, Stan Kopac was
recognized as an important contributor to the musical life of our
country.
