A pioneer in music education in Peterborough schools for more than
30 years, Ford was the founder and conductor of three innovative
ensembles: the New
Horizons Band, for seniors; the
Kawartha
Wind Symphony, consisting of 40 adult musicians; and the
Starfire
Band, a
group of local Grade 7 to OAC students.
