Whether it be playing fiddle tunes for a
crowed house party in small town Ennismore, or singing at local
café’s and pubs in Ontario, Melissa Payne is sure to capture the
ears and hearts of everyone in the place. Stomping her foot to
fiddle music since the time she was able to walk, It was no surprise
when Melissa took up playing fiddle at the young age of four. With
strong influences and teachers such as the Leahy’s, the now 21 year
old Melissa has remained passionate with fiddle over the years but
it wasn’t until her first year out high school she purchased her
first guitar. Discovering her love for both writing as well as
singing, she hasn’t put the guitar down or stopped singing a day
since. Playing a variety of different genres there’s no doubt that
any song played pays respect to her own personal style. Belting it
out or playing fiddle tunes she stays true to her old time fiddle
and Irish roots while compared to singer/song writers such as Jewel
and Sheryl Crow, Melissa’s strong signature vocal skills and unique
style when it comes to playing the guitar and fiddle is sure to
entertain any crowd.
