The Lazy Devils Gypsy Jazz and Western Swing trio. The Lazy Devils
came together in the winter of 2003 when brothers Ryan and Sam Weber
(current members of Ronnie
Hawkins band The
Hawks) found themselves living in the small town of Buckhorn,
ON, just down the road from Flapjack front man Jay
Edmunds. The three of them started jamming in a lakeside house a
few times a week, fueled by their common interest in the swing bands
of the 19303 and 40s. After many nights of playing jazz together
until the sun came up, they decided it was time to take the next
step and started performing live. Their first gig as the Lazy Devils
came in Peterborough, ON where a weekly show at the Black
Horse Pub was met with great audience response and steadily
growing crowds, the style catering to music fans of all ages. Since
then The Lazy Devils have been performing the music of Django
Reinhart, Bob Wills, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, and Fats Waller
in rooms all over Ontario, and are currently working on their first
full length recording. Inspired by The Hot Club of Cowtown, fiddle,
guitar and upright bass, along with stellar three part harmony make
up the infectious sound of this swing trio.
