Karyn Ellis lived in Peterborough during the early 1990s and returns here
to play on a regular basis. Karyn Ellis sings acoustic folk-pop
ballads about bittersweet stuff. Her songs are personal, raw and
poetic, with a little lighthearted quirky thrown in. And she
delivers a vocal performance that is unmistakable and sweet. As
Jennifer Layton of Indie-Music.com writes: "Karyn can envelop
you in the warmth of that voice and break your heart at the same
time."
With her notably charming stage presence, this up and coming artist
is winning over audiences wherever she travels ... from Halifax NS
to Vancouver BC. Her 6-song EP, Bird, is a CBC and campus/community
radio station favourite, and is heard across the country.
Karyn's newest album entitled HEARTS FALL will be released this
fall. The full length CD was recorded live-off-the-floor at the
Staircase Theatre in Hamilton Ontario over the winter and spring of
2005 and features members of her "Rubber Band".
