Joe (Joey) Henderson was a fixture on the Peterborough entertainment scene for more than forty years. His career represented, in many ways, a history of musical entertainment in Peterborough.  From his early days as part of such groups as The Sonics and The Emeralds to his later work at such venerable area landmarks as the Ship and Shore, the Commercial and the Montreal House, Joe charmed audiences with his talent and personality.  He was one of the first artists signed to play the Havelock Jamboree and shared stages with a remarkable list of notables, including Ronnie Hawkins, Merle Haggard and Colleen Peterson
