If the respect of his peers is anything to go by, Jerome Godboo is surely one of the giants on the music scene in Canada ...and beyond.

Vocalist, harmonica virtuoso and front man extraordinaire, Jerome has shared stages with the best, including Prince, James Cotton, The Tragically Hip, Johnny Winter, Levon Helm, Jose Feliciano, Billy Ray Cyrus and many more. he has recorded and toured with Alannah Myles, Jeff Healey, Ronnie Hawkins and, most recently, Jimmy Bowskill, the teenaged blues sensation who is electrifying audiences.

Jerome's network television appearances on CTVs open mike with Mike Bullard and Canada am, as well as CBCs zed and TVOs planet parent, have exposed him to audiences across Canada. and he continues to win fans abroad with tours in Finland, Portugal and Israel.

Anyone who has seen Jerome live has the images seared in their mind the machismo and the mischievous grin, the low-slung leather belt of harmonicas, combined with a tenderness and vulnerability as well. based purely on first impressions, it's easy to make comparisons to Jagger and Morrison... but Jerome imitates no one.

Born in Victoria, Jerome exploded onto the scene in Ottawa and Toronto in the late 1980s with The Phantoms, a high-energy blues and rock phenomenon. the band recorded two albums for a&m, shot nine videos, notched a top-selling single with Home and tore up packed nightclubs and theatres across Canada. fans still get excited recalling those transcendent shows.

Since the phantoms went their separate ways in 1994, Jerome has been honing a more refined sound of his own, releasing five independent cds as well as supporting many of the legends of Canadian music as a trusted sideman. among the highlights was the appearance at the Canadian farm aid benefit concert before 20,000 fans at Toronto's Air Canada centre in January 2000, broadcast nationwide, and two electrifying shows with Jimmy Bowskill in Montréal in the summer of 2002, one before a record-breaking crowd at the Montréal jazz festival and the to a crowd of 30,000 at Canada day
