A Peterborough native, Del Crary
enlisted in WW II and was part of the Canadian Army Show, a musical
corps which included Bobby
Kinsman. He used to say that he “chased
Hitler around Europe with a Saxophone!"
In addition to his
popularity as a bandleader, Del Crary was the voice and radio
personality of the Kawarthas as morning man on CHEX radio. He also
hosted TV shows, such as CHEX TV Dance Party, and was responsible
